words of wisdom ...

"As long as human beings do not receive the light of initiaticScience to make them aware of what they lack, they can remaincontent with how they are. But as soon as they receive thislight, they are appalled, for they are forced to see they havewasted their time and energy on all sorts of useless or harmfulactivities. Then, all they want to do is close their eyes or runaway.Well, no, however discouraging the reality we discover may be,we must not close our eyes or run away, for it’s still better tosee clearly. If we refuse to accept reality, how can we improvesituations? You will say, ‘But we’ll suffer!’ Yes, but it’sbetter to suffer and be in the light. There is nothing to begained from remaining in illusions, for life is terrible: sometime or other it will force us to see reality, and the more wedelay, the more difficulties we will encounter."

~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov"

When you are faced with certain events and situations in life, you feel troubled and disorientated, and you no longer know whatto do. But not knowing what to do is no excuse for forsaking whatyou know to be the right path. On the contrary, then more thanever you must remain on the path. For, be under no illusions, life will never conform to your wishes and needs; it’s up to youto adopt the right attitude that will allow you to find thesolution to your difficulties, the cure for your suffering. There is no point in continually complaining and saying, ‘Whyare people like that? Do I really need this? Why is life sohard?’ No point in asking such questions. On the other hand, what you should be asking is, ‘How am I to understand what’shappening to me? How can I make use of it? How can I transformit and make it useful for my own evolution and the good ofothers?’ These are the questions you should be asking. It’s thenyou start moving forward, and whatever happens to you only servesto strengthen you. "

"Humans judge everything according to their own criteria; theydon’t see there are values they neglect and others they esteemtoo highly. This is why, in the eyes of cosmic Intelligence, human values are rarely true values.Take the case of education, which people generally set greatstore by. If you ask someone how much time it took them to gettheir degree, they’ll say three years, five years, or even moreif they’re a doctor, and that seems a long time. But if you wantto acquire virtues such as patience, kindness, generosity orwisdom, a few years are not enough; you need several centuries.Acquiring book knowledge is so much easier than developing moralqualities! When someone has these qualities, it is because theyhave worked for centuries to acquire them, so why underestimatethem?"

~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov"

The knowledge acquired from books provides us with building materials, with resources, so why not acquire it?But beware of the conclusions drawn by scholars and philosophers from all these materials they have had at their disposal. When they tell you after years of study and research that they have come to the conclusion that the universe is the work of chance, that there is no order in creation, that the soul and religion are inventions to be rejected, that life is absurd, that the earth is a battleground where each of us must fight tooth and nail not to be devoured by his neighbour, and so on… listen to them out of curiosity if you want, but do not let yourself be influenced by them. Over the centuries, how many times have the conclusions of scientists and philosophers changed! Why base your life on such unstable foundations? All the knowledge you can acquire must lead you toward God, toward an understanding of the meaning of life. Beware of all other conclusions. "

Listen to them out of curiosity if you want, but do not let yourself be influenced by them.
"You must do everything in your power to rise to greater and greater heights. In this you will always be perfectly within your rights, and no one can stop you. In fact this is the only absolute right that God has given us. Each time you take a step upwards, that is to say, each time you succeed in resisting a temptation, in conquering, or even transforming a weakness or a vice, orders go out automatically from heaven and an entity is sent to help you; you are given certain powers; your circumstances begin to improve. But it is not your business to see that these things happen. The only thing you have to do is overcome obstacles and difficulties by rising above them. All the rest will come automatically."

~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

"In daily life you are constantly solicited by all kinds of activities that represent temptations for you. They all seem really sensible and intelligent, but after a while, you notice that you have been very active without much result. This does not mean that you must be interested in nothing but the spiritual life; on the contrary you can be interested in everything, but on one condition: that you cling resolutely to a high ideal, a divine philosophy. If you hold on to a rope that is firmly attached, you can swing in all directions. But if the knot is not strong or if the rope is worn, you will fall and break your back. We should always come back to the importance of the link; this is what we must never forget: the link - the link with heaven."

.......but on one condition: that you cling resolutely to a high ideal, a divine philosophy.

Feelings of discontent can be compared to a substance we can work on and alter, but only if we do so before it solidifies and becomes too resistant. Let us take an image. You have carelessly put your feet into liquid cement, and you stand there thinking about something else. The cement begins to solidify and soon becomes so hard that you find yourself trapped. Someone will have to find tools to break it apart, and you risk being injured. Well, this is what happens in the inner life. If you do not quickly correct certain mistakes and shortcomings, soon it is too late: the repairs are very expensive and may lead to further damage."

~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov"

All living creatures, even animals, have an instinct allowing them to find a solution to their problems and a remedy for their pains. A sick animal, for instance, will instinctively find the plant which will cure it. And in many cases the instinct nature has given us also helps us human beings. But instinct alone is not enough. Instinct is a blind impulse belonging to the realm of the subconscious, and it is up to human beings to enlighten it and to bring it into consciousness. This instinct is a kind of intuition, but manifested in the lower regions, whereas true intuition belongs to the realms of the soul and the spirit. There is a great similarity, therefore, between instinct and intuition; in fact it is almost the same faculty, but manifested in two different regions. So, to help find the plant that will cure them, animals have a kind of intuition, or let us rather call it a flair, which has nothing to do with intelligence, knowledge, or consciousness. Whereas in evolved beings everything is conscious; they know." ~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

"Imagine you are on a beach by the sea. There, you stir the water with a small stick, creating swirls. Little by little, twigs, scraps of paper and corks begin to circle round. And soon, if you continue, small boats, then large ships, and finally the entire world begins to turn in the circle. The etheric ocean in which we are immersed is similar to this liquid ocean, and if we practise and persevere, by means of thought we can stir the entire world.Strive, therefore, to understand the few principles on which the spiritual life is based, in order to become conductors of the divine world, workers in the field of the Lord. By means of thought, maintain this inner movement unfailingly until all the particles of your being are mobilized in the realization of this luminous work you have undertaken – a work not only on yourself, but on all the creatures of the earth, and even beyond, on the entire universe."

~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

A human being is comparable to a bank. What does a bank do? It receives capital and then puts this capital to work. The more customers a bank does business with, the more prosperous it becomes. These exchanges presuppose the existence of a collectivity and a relationship with this collectivity. A bank attempting to work on its own would quickly fail.In the same way, people who refuse to live in contact with the collectivity deprive themselves of opportunities for exchanges and thus of ‘capital', and little by little they lose everything, even their own wealth. Initiates are wealthy because they know that all human beings carry hidden within them riches which must be discovered and exploited, so they make spiritual exchanges with the entire world. These exchanges never cease to bring them new ideas, new feelings, new sensations – means they use to accomplish their work." ~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

"Appearances are often misleading: beauty can hide ugliness, wealth can hide poverty, and strength can hide weakness. The Hindu philosophy calls this deceptive appearance ‘maya', or illusion. The wise man is one who succeeds in piercing the veil of appearances to discover reality, and, once he has done so, endeavours to analyse his yearnings lucidly in the light of this reality. And often, when he understands the consequences that await him, he abandons his ambitions, and the pursuit of fortune, glory and pleasure. As long as we do not see, as long as we do not understand what ‘maya' is, we set out blindly, believing that we will find happiness and success, and instead we fall into traps. But once we see things in their true light, we become more careful; and we can then go forward, confident that we will not go astray." ~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov"

The most discouraging fact about human beings is that they accept the idea of a life of limitations. They consider weakness, sickness and unhappiness to be normal, because they cannot imagine that life could be otherwise. Of course we can never escape certain restrictions imposed on us by nature, but we can step back from these limitations and refuse to consider ourselves forever prisoners or victims. We can try to prolong our good states and good conditions, or delay the advent of negative situations, but in order to do so we must at least believe this is possible. Unfortunately, when you observe human beings you notice that they behave as if they were hypnotized, as if someone had drawn a line in front of them and forbidden them to cross it. And they truly believe they cannot cross it, that this restriction is the normal human state of affairs! But no! They do not know themselves; they are ignorant of all they possess – all the treasures and powers God has given them – so they stay bogged down in the same old place. So, from now on, human beings must push these limitations away so they may feel and touch the riches within them."

The most discouraging fact about human beings is that they accept the idea of a life of limitations.
"So many people want to work for honesty, for justice, for the good of humanity. But because they do not know how to go about it they gradually become discouraged and even sometimes end up hating the entire world. Is this an intelligent outcome? If you really want to work for the good of humankind you should begin by leaving people alone and you should focus solely on perfecting yourself. And then, the day will come when you become so enlightened that, when they see you, people will be moved to ask you to enlighten them, because they will see how miserable they are, and sense how bogged down they are in a quagmire. But do not then be tempted to go and deal with this quagmire, because if you plunge into the morass in order to purify it, you yourself will get bogged down. Work towards enlightenment so that, even without a word being said, your very presence will make others begin to understand they have lost their way, and they will ask you to guide them." ~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov "The conditions of life rarely correspond to what you desire or hope for. But instead of complaining, of rebelling, or of becoming discouraged, you must reflect and ask yourself questions: why has heaven arranged for precisely these people, and not others, to surround you in your family, at work or elsewhere? You must learn to consider these difficult conditions from another perspective, and even if you do not understand them, strive to understand that they have meaning, that they have a reason for being. And the more incomprehensible it is, and contrary to what you hoped for, the more you must have confidence in heaven and tell yourself that this will lead to the realisation of your best aspirations. Even if you are suffering at the moment, after a while you will be strengthened and assuaged; your relations with others will improve, and you will sense that the good influences of this work affect your health as well."

There is not a single person on earth to whom life has not brought a number of problems to resolve. This is why all sages agree on this point: life is the one true master. They themselves, of course, are able to teach others because they are highly evolved beings who have worked hard and suffered a great deal. They can therefore help others through their own experiences. But even these beings bear no comparison to the greatest teacher of all: life. And life is the master of the greatest sages, also.Human beings think they can control life and behave as they see fit, but it is life, on the contrary, which teaches them. It is from life, in fact, that they learn their most important lessons, because life knows precisely the point on which they need instruction. Whether it be on the physical, emotional, or intellectual plane, every fault, every weakness represents a lesson to be learned. And it is useless to try to play truant from ‘school', because sooner or later life catches up with us."

Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov "

You’ll see intelligent, educated, sensitive, even idealisticpeople reduced to dragging members of their family before thecourts, all for wretched money matters. Could they not rise abit above all that? Why must they always cling to theirinterests, their possessions? My goodness, if each side wouldonly make a gesture they would all feel much freer! To beginwith, of course, they’ll find it difficult to make this gesture. But if they succeed, they will discover new regions inthemselves, new lights, and there will be no one prouder orhappier, because they will have achieved something verydifficult: they will have conquered their lower nature.People’s lower nature is constantly advising them to beegotistical, envious and vindictive. And then they think they’recapable of following a spiritual teaching! Well, no, they’re not. Those who wish to be worthy of the light of a spiritual teachingare no longer permitted to act like ordinary people."
